This fabric has a particular traditional Scottish design. It is obtained with threads of different colours that are repeated in a defined pattern, the same in both warp and weft, called sett. The blocks of colour are repeated vertically and horizontally in a distinctive pattern of squares and lines which, when interwoven, give the appearance of new colours mixed from the original ones
